Donald Trump, President of the United States, in an interview with Fox News that was broadcast on Tuesday, July 24, in response to the question of whether he still believes that the new leadership cadre of the Islamic Republic is a “changed regime,” said: “Well, I knew the first group for a while. They were evil and they are no longer among us. I also knew the second group to some extent, even better than the first group, and they were also evil and they are no longer among us. The third group also has bad people among them; some of them are really very bad. And I think it is these people who prevent reaching an agreement.”
In response to the question of whether the United States is negotiating with the wrong people, he said: “Now I don’t want to negotiate anymore. I said let’s not negotiate for now. Three days ago we had reached an agreement.” He said that regarding his most recent contact with an official of the Islamic Republic, his representatives had spoken “an hour ago.”
