🔶CENTCOM: The Strait of Hormuz is open to all ships
The U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, said in a statement that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all ships seeking to pass through this international waterway legally.
CENTCOM wrote on X that U.S. forces deployed in the region are ready to ensure freedom of navigation despite what it called “invasions, harassment, threats, and arbitrary statements by Iran.”
The statement emphasized: “Iran does not have control of the Strait. Transit is ongoing.”
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important energy transit routes in the world, and any restriction, threat, or ambiguity regarding the passage of ships through this waterway could have immediate consequences for global energy markets and maritime security in the region.
