🔶 CENTCOM: Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz
Following a new round of military clashes between the United States and the Islamic Republic, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) in a message on the X network denied reports by Iranian state media and stated that the Islamic Republic has no control over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CENTCOM, since the beginning of May 2026 to date, U.S. armed forces have provided for and protected the safe passage of more than 800 commercial vessels in this international waterway.
In its message, CENTCOM stated that the Strait of Hormuz is an important and vital corridor for international trade, and that reports by Republic media about exclusive control of the Strait of Hormuz are false.
The U.S. Central Command announced that the aim of the United States’ recent military operations is to further reduce the regime of Iran’s ability to threaten the security of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
