🔶 Bulgaria: US refueling aircraft will not be used for operations against Iran

In response to Iran’s warning about the deployment of U.S. refueling aircraft in this country, the Bulgarian government announced that these aircraft will be used only for logistics missions and will not play any role in military operations against Iran.

In this regard, Rumen Radev, Bulgaria’s prime minister, said: “By no means will any military operation in the Middle East be carried out from Bulgarian territory.” According to him, the aircraft will refuel outside Bulgarian airspace.

The Bulgarian government had announced on Monday, July 20 (29 Tir), that it would ask parliament to approve the deployment of up to eight U.S. refueling aircraft at the Bezmer air base.

The decision was raised after Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, warned that providing Bulgaria’s territory for U.S. military operations against Iran would make the country a “partner of the aggressors and lawbreakers.”
