Bloomberg reported that maritime tracking data in the early hours of Tuesday morning indicate an almost complete halt in shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
After attacks on several oil tankers and renewed escalation in military clashes, many shipping companies have stopped moving their vessels or avoided entering this waterway. Some ships have also gone offline from public tracking systems by turning off their location transmitters.
Based on data from Kpler, which Reuters also reviewed, the passage of oil and gas tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to the lowest level since May 25. On Sunday, only six tankers passed through this route, and no liquefied natural gas-carrying ships were observed in the strait.
