Arash Azarmi, editor of the economics section of Iran International, citing remarks by Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, about the “economic expulsion” of the Islamic Republic, said that the naval blockade has physically limited Iran’s oil exports, while financial sanctions have also made it difficult to channel the revenue generated from oil sales back to the government.
