🔻Amnesty International asked officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately stop any plans for carrying out the death sentence of Benjamin Nikdehi, an athlete who has been sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz.
🔹Amnesty International said in a statement that this ruling was issued after a severely unfair trial and called for an immediate halt to the execution process.
🔹The organization has not released further details in the first part of this message and said it will provide additional information later.
🔹Earlier, the human rights organization For Sport had reported that Benjamin Nikdehi, a 26-year-old kickboxing and Muay Thai athlete from Shiraz, who was arrested on 13 Dey 1404, was forced into making coerced confessions under torture and pressure. Shortly after his arrest, Iranian government media released a video, presenting it as his “confessions.”
