Following the targeting of Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline from Iraqi territory, the country has significantly increased the loading of oil from eastern ports in the Persian Gulf.
Oil-tanker tracking company Tanker Trackers reported that on Tuesday, September 15, 8.7 million barrels of Saudi oil were loaded at Persian Gulf oil terminals.
Previously, Vortexa reported that the total loading of Saudi oil from Persian Gulf oil terminals in the week ending September 13 was about 22 million barrels. Thus, over the past day, the volume of loading from Saudi Arabia’s eastern ports was nearly three times the average daily oil loading over the previous week.
Chris Wright, the U.S. energy secretary, said the day before that activity on Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline would resume within the next few days. Brent’s benchmark oil price fell by 72 cents on Wednesday to reach $108. The Murban crude price of the UAE, the Persian Gulf oil pricing benchmark, also fell by $4 today to nearly $124.
