According to the Israeli army, Hezbollah’s tunnels beneath Alí Al-Tāher Heights in southern Lebanon were destroyed this evening with more than 1,100 tons of explosives. The army said that in two tunnels more than two kilometers long, dozens of rockets, rocket-launchers and drones made by the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with light weapons, anti-tank missiles, and hundreds of mines and other explosives were found. According to this report, this complex was the “command center” of Hezbollah’s Badr regional unit; a unit that is responsible for areas north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army described these facilities as “strategic infrastructure built over two decades” and said that their construction was carried out with financing and planning by the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the army, with the destruction of this site, the complete destruction of a large Hezbollah tunnel network in the Alí Al-Tāher and Qal‘a Shaqif area has been achieved, including eight tunnels with a length of 5.4 kilometers.
