Abolfazl Ghae’diani, a political prisoner held in Evin Prison, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement, rejected the government’s account of the role of “terrorists” in the killings of protesters in Dey 1404 and said government forces were responsible for the massacre.

In a statement published from Evin Prison, Ghae’diani, referring to the holding of the Bahman 22, 1404 march and government gatherings in recent months, called into question the official narrative about the presence of “terrorists affiliated with foreign countries” in Dey 1404.

He asked that if those behind the killings of protesters, as the Islamic Republic announced, were “foreign-affiliated terrorists,” then why were they not present in the Bahman 22 march and other government rallies, which were held securely.

Ghae’diani also urged media outlets and human rights institutions to question what he called the contradiction in the Islamic Republic’s narrative about the protests and government gatherings.

He wrote: “There has been and there is no terrorism, and the killers of the people are the same ruling forces.”

Ghae’diani also identified Ali and Mojtaba Khamenei as responsible for the killing of protesters in Dey 1404 and said that government forces shot at protesters with live ammunition.
