A senior Iranian source told Reuters that the Islamic Republic will stop its attacks as long as the United States continues to halt its attacks, but Tehran still doubts Washington’s intentions.

The source said on Sunday, 4 Mordad, to Reuters: “The position of the Islamic Republic remains ‘attack for attack’; if the attacks are stopped, Tehran will also stop its operations. This message has been conveyed to America before.”

The remarks were raised a day after Washington halted its attacks following 13 consecutive nights of airstrikes.

The source added: “There is more distrust than optimism regarding the cessation of further attacks. The prevailing view is that this pause is tactical, not real.”
