“Kylie Morgilbert,” a researcher and university professor of Australian-British nationality who was imprisoned in Iran for more than two years, expressed concern about the renewed arrest of Iranian environmental activist couple “Sepideh Kachani” and “Hooman Joukār” through a video message and called on the international community to take action for their immediate release. The researcher, who was a fellow inmate with Sepideh Kachani during her time in Evin Prison, said: “My dear sister, Sepideh Kachani, along with her husband Hooman Joukār and her sister Siama Kachani, have been detained in Iran. We do not know which agency has detained them, where they are being held, or what the reason for this arrest is.” He, referring to the arrest history of this environmental activist couple, emphasized that Sepideh Kachani and Hooman Joukār, wildlife conservation advocates, had previously spent more than six years of their lives in Evin Prison. Kylie Morg also warned about Siama Kachani’s condition and said she suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS) and needs urgent medical care.
