SpaceX launched 23 more Starlink satellites into orbit early Monday from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, using a Falcon 9 rocket to carry the payload into space. The mission added to the company’s rapidly expanding internet constellation and extended its already busy launch schedule for the year.
The flight marked SpaceX’s 100th orbital launch in 2026, underscoring the company’s pace as it continues deploying satellites for its global broadband network. The launch followed a familiar pattern for the company, which has become the most active commercial operator in the space industry.
The latest batch of satellites is part of SpaceX’s broader effort to widen Starlink coverage and increase network capacity. As with previous missions, the launch also reflected the company’s reliance on reusable Falcon 9 hardware to keep launch costs and turnaround times low.
SpaceX has used frequent launches to build out Starlink at scale, though the growing constellation has also drawn scrutiny from astronomers and regulators over orbital congestion and space sustainability.
