The British Foreign Ministry summoned the chargé d’affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in London, citing what it described as the role of the IRGC’s Quds Force in guiding a group affiliated with carrying out attacks across Europe during the months of March and May.
In an official statement, the ministry said Ali Nasimfar was summoned on Tuesday at the order of the UK Foreign Secretary. The ministry called the group “Islamic Movement of the Companions of Right” and described its activities as “entirely unacceptable.”
The British Foreign Ministry emphasized: “Despite repeated warnings, the intelligence services of the Islamic Republic have not stopped their hostile activities; instead, the Islamic Republic has sought to intensify its destructive behavior.”
The summons came one day after Britain placed the IRGC on the list of terrorist organizations.
On Tuesday, the Islamic Republic condemned the decision and called the IRGC its “official armed forces component,” accusing Britain of violating international law in an effort to target a state institution.
