The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted an airbase hosting U.S. forces in Jordan with ballistic missiles on Tuesday, in what it described as the latest claim by the force about attacks on American positions on Jordanian soil.
In a statement by the IRGC, which was published by Fars News Agency, the name of the base was not mentioned, and Jordanian people were urged to remove American bases from their country.
Earlier, the Jordanian Armed Forces said that on Tuesday morning they intercepted and shot down four missiles fired by the Islamic Republic and that shrapnel landed in several locations without casualties.
In recent days, the IRGC also claimed attacks on the al-Hashemite Prince Hassan and al-Zarq bases in Jordan; claims that have not been independently verified.
