Rashad Al-Alimi, the president of Yemen, called this action an “overt violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen” and a “direct challenge to international laws.” He said that conducting such an international flight without permission and the government’s approval [internationally recognized] creates a dangerous precedent, violates the legitimacy of institutions, and intensifies the political divide in Yemen.
