🔶 Israel’s transport minister confirmed the deployment of an Iron Dome air-defense system in the UAE during the war with Iran Miri Regev, Israel’s transport minister, confirmed that the country deployed an Iron Dome air-defense system in the United Arab Emirates in the early stages of the war with Iran. She told Israeli army radio: “They realized that ballistic missiles are one of the biggest challenges.” Although Regev is the first Israeli official to publicly confirm the dispatch of this missile defense system to the UAE, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, Michael Hackaby, had previously confirmed the matter in May. According to the announcement of the UAE Ministry of Defense, during the war between the United States and Israel against Iran, Tehran fired about 550 ballistic and cruise missiles and more than 2,200 drones at this country in continuous attacks. In this way, the UAE was targeted by attacks from the Islamic Republic more than any other country in the region, including Israel. In April, Axios news site reported for the first time that Israel sent this air-defense system, along with military forces to guide and operate it, to the United Arab Emirates.
