Bloomberg and Reuters assessments of the immediate recovery of OPEC oil production following the lifting of the Islamic Republic’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. A Reuters review shows that last month OPEC’s daily oil production increased by 3.3 million barrels and, excluding the United Arab Emirates, which left this organization in May, reached 19 million and 430 thousand barrels. No report has yet been published on the UAE’s oil production status, but its daily oil exports last month surpassed the period before the Strait of Hormuz was blocked. Bloomberg’s review also confirms the increase in OPEC oil production, but it cites a daily growth rate of 2.34 million barrels and says the total oil production of OPEC member countries (excluding the UAE) is still 7.5 million barrels lower than the period before the Strait of Hormuz was blocked. Iran’s daily oil production last month increased by about half a million barrels and reached 2.85 million barrels, but it can still be seen that it is about half a million barrels less than the period before the war.
