🔻Zahra Bahroz Azar, the Deputy President of Iran for Women and Family Affairs, says that the approval for issuing motorcycle licenses for women has been finalized and that the Traffic Police of FARAJA is required to implement it; however, the process of issuing the licenses has not yet begun.

According to Ms. Bahroz Azar, the legal and regulatory obstacles related to this matter have been removed, and the necessary approval for implementing the resolution has also been obtained.

She cited women’s demands, issues related to traffic, and the need for women riders to have access to insurance coverage as reasons for pursuing this issue.

The deputy president of Iran expressed hope that, with the remaining obstacles removed, the implementation of this resolution and the issuance of licenses for women will begin soon.

Under this resolution, the Traffic Police of FARAJA will be responsible for carrying out the process of issuing motorcycle licenses for women.

Despite extensive legal restrictions against women in Iran, in recent years—especially after protests related to the killing of Mahsa Amini while in the custody of the Guidance Patrol—there has been an increase in the number of women motorcycle riders in cities across Iran. This trend increases further during the warmer months.
