🏛 White House Statement:
For years, the American people were told lies about the security of the country’s election infrastructure, including electronic voting machines and vote-counting systems.
We are publishing a set of former, confidential intelligence assessments and other reports indicating that the U.S. government long knew these systems are highly vulnerable to attacks.
We assess that America’s adversaries, including at least Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, as well as non-state groups, have the capability to compromise the United States’ election infrastructure.
Tonight, all of these findings, covering the period from January 2020 to June 2026, will be released.
This is a cyber threat to the heart of our democracy.
