U.S. Central Command announced that its forces began a fresh wave of attacks on positions in Iran at 6:00 a.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, in the afternoon in Tehran.

CENTCOM said the aim of these attacks is to further weaken the military capabilities of the Islamic Republic forces which, according to this command, have been used to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

No details about the targets or the initial results of the attacks have been released.
