The Russian Foreign Ministry told Germany’s Charge d’Affaires Bernd Finke that Moscow firmly rejects Berlin’s completely fabricated accusations over the Leipzig incident.

Germany’s anti-Russian actions will be met with a strong response. Berlin deliberately resorted to provocation with the aim of escalating bilateral relations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

According to the ministry, the decision to close Russia’s consulate general in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin marked a step toward a complete breakdown of Russia-Germany ties.
