The President of France announced that Paris is working to reduce tensions, ensure the security of oil supply, and ease pressure on fuel prices in France.

Emmanuel Macron, on Thursday, wrote in a message on the social network X that France’s priority is “to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” protect the energy infrastructure of this country’s partners, and guarantee the security of production.

He added that after discussions with Iraq’s prime minister at the beginning of the week, he also spoke with the Saudi Crown Prince and the Emir of Qatar.

The French president also reported on cooperation with Paris’s partners in the “coalition for freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” and said that France is simultaneously working to create alternative routes for transporting oil so that dependence on this strategic passage is reduced.

At the end of his message, Macron emphasized that reducing tensions, securing oil supply, and easing pressure on fuel prices are part of an effort to “protect the French.”
