“Yesterday, on September 4, 2026, we identified at least 17 ship-to-ship transfers of crude oil and gas (LNG and LPG) in the Gulf of Oman, through which at least 24 million barrels of oil were moved.

We also observed additional oil tankers waiting with oil cargoes for other ships to transfer their loads in these waters. It appears that the main limiting factor is the capacity of the transfer location; the area has become extremely busy, and port services operate around the clock to ensure transfers are conducted safely and smoothly.

In addition, at least 7.25 million barrels of oil, along with two other LNG tankers, are preparing to transit the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman under the protection of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
