Sharīfah’s caregiver, the mother of Ramīn Husayn‌pahani, a political prisoner who was executed, wrote in support of the general strike on 25 Shahrivar: “On the fourth anniversary of the passing of Zhina Emīnī, I support the call for a general strike in Kurdistan. I ask all people to be united and stand alongside in this protest movement; in memory of Zhina and all those who lost their lives on the path to freedom, and in protest against oppression, for justice and freedom. We keep justice alive; neither do we forgive nor do we forget. We will not give up the blood of those who died on the path to freedom.”

The coalition of Kurdish political forces in Iran had previously, by publishing a joint statement, asked “all individuals and segments of the nation and the struggling and freedom-seeking people” to, on Wednesday, 25 Shahrivar, coinciding with the fourth anniversary of the government killing of Mahsa Zhina Emīnī and the start of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, strike nationwide by closing shops and the bazaar and by refraining from going to the workplace.
