🔶 Six months have passed since the “Dey massacre”; Prince Reza Pahlavi called for remembering the victims
Prince Reza Pahlavi, in a video message on the occasion of six months passing since the “Dey 1404 massacre,” honored the victims of the protests of 18 and 19 Dey.
In his message, Prince Reza Pahlavi said: “18 and 19 Dey were not just two nights for protest. They were the nights when Iran’s silence was broken. Millions came into the streets, filled the squares, and stood on the rooftops of their homes, but the regime answered them with bullets. In those forty-eight hours, tens of thousands of my fellow countrymen lost their lives. From that day until this moment as well, tens of thousands of others have been arrested, tortured, or sentenced to death. They came to the streets determined and with courage. I think of them every day.”
He emphasized that the resolve of the Iranian people remains steadfast even after this massacre, and he told the families of the victims that their loved ones’ lives “were not lost in vain.”
Prince Reza Pahlavi called on the international community not to forget the massacre of protesters in Iran, and emphasized: “Don’t allow what is agreed upon in negotiation rooms in Geneva or Islamabad to consign to oblivion the truth of what happened on the streets of Tehran, Mashhad, and Kermanshah. They gave their lives for freedom, and with the freedom of Iran, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened; the nuclear threat will come to an end, and we will reach true peace.”
