🔶 Reports of hearing the sound of an explosion in Qeshm, Sirik, and Minab

Iranian official media, including the state news agency IRNA, reported on Wednesday night, 18 Shahrivar (September 9), that the sound of an explosion was heard on Qeshm Island. A few minutes later, similar reports were published from Sirik and Minab in Hormozgan province.

In the initial reports, it was said that it is not yet clear whether the explosions occurred at sea or whether targets in these areas were hit. Later, the Hormozgan governorate described the nature of the sounds in Qeshm as coming from the direction of the sea.

So far, local sources have not provided an official explanation for the cause of the explosions or any potential damage.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has also not issued a statement, at the time of publication of this report, regarding a new attack or engagement in the late hours of Wednesday night.
