Mahsa Piraei, the daughter of Mina Javid, one of the slain in the “Women, Life, Freedom” uprising, said at an Amnesty International meeting in London: “Four years ago, Islamic Republic security forces killed my mother in the protests in Kermanshah. She, like many other protesters who took to the streets, went because she wanted freedom, change, and a better future for Iran.”

Mahsa Piraei added: “Justice for me means accountability. The person who fired at my mother must be held to account, but responsibility does not end with them. A system killed my mother; one person ordered and another carried out the order. Responsibility must be pursued up to the highest level of the command chain.”
