The United States is still storing six F-35A jets that were built for this country before it suspended its participation in the program. With progress in negotiations between Washington and Ankara for Turkey to return to the program, the likelihood of delivering these aircraft before the end of 2026 has increased.

In 2002, Turkey joined the F-35 program with an investment of $1.4 billion and planned to buy 130 aircraft. However, after purchasing the S-400 from Russia in 2019, its participation in the program was suspended. No official has yet confirmed an exact delivery schedule.
