👈 Landslide blocks a river in Nepal
A widespread landslide in the “Api Himal” area in Darchula County in western Nepal has blocked part of the Chaulani River, raising concerns about the occurrence of sudden flooding in downstream areas.
Local officials have asked residents living along the river to remain on standby, as the continued landslide could completely block the river’s course and, if this blockage breaks, create a sudden surge wave of water.
Reports indicate that the water flow is currently passing again through the landslide debris, and this incident is not connected to the recent major flood disaster in other parts of Nepal
