🔸The judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced on Tuesday morning, 23 Tir, the execution of two people on charges of “rebellion and armed uprising against the system of the Islamic Republic,” and said they were members of the ISIS group.
🔸The judiciary has named the two as Muhy al-Din Abdullahi and Hossein Palani, and says they were members of a “cell affiliated with ISIS” that, in the heights of Bamo in the Iran–Iraq border area, were arrested and tried after an engagement that also resulted in the killing of three members of the Revolutionary Guards.
🔸The judiciary media also reported that hearings were held for the case and that “the defendants’ statements and those of their lawyers were obtained,” and added that ultimately “Muhy al-Din Abdullahi and Hossein Palani were sentenced to death for the charge of armed uprising against the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran (rebellion).”
🔸No details about the course of this trial have been published, and it is also not clear what the court proceedings were like and whether they had access to a lawyer and to fair due process. However, the judiciary’s report, without any further explanation, says that with the ruling finalized by the Supreme Court, both were hanged at the break of dawn today.
