Hosein Mohabi, the spokesperson of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said that the Islamic Republic’s “prohibited area” in international waters begins around Chabahar and includes parts of the Oman Sea and the Arabian Sea along the route leading to the Strait of Hormuz.
He added that any vessel that enters this area without coordination will be placed on the Islamic Republic’s sanctions list, and if it later intends to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, it will not be granted permission to do so.
