🔸Hanna Neumann, Germany’s representative in the European Parliament, says that four years after Mahsa Amini’s death, the Iranian government still responds with prison, bullets, and execution when faced with courage.
🔸Speaking in the European Parliament on Tuesday, 24 Shahrivar, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death, Ms. Neumann, referring to the crackdown on protesters in Iran during the 1401 protests, said that since then the Iranian regime has killed, jailed, or forced tens of thousands of young Iranian people to leave their homeland.
🔸The German representative in the European Parliament said: “However, this generation has transformed Iran, even if the government has not changed.”
🔸She added, while criticizing Western countries’ approach to the Iranian government: “Iranians have the right to ask: where did all those promises go?”
🔸Neumann also called for serious action against officials of the Islamic Republic and emphasized: “We must expel the regime’s agents. We must counter cross-border repression on European soil. We must fully implement sanctions and never forget those who are behind prison bars and in the line of execution.”
