The Gulf Cooperation Council and Qatar condemned a drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s east-to-west oil pipeline, which was carried out from Iraqi territory.
The Secretary-General of the GCC condemned the attack “strongly.”
Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi called the attack “a dangerously escalatory move and an unacceptable threat” to Saudi Arabia’s security, territorial integrity, and vital facilities, and said it was an “overt violation” of international law.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also described the targeting of civilian and economic facilities as a “condemnable act” and an “overt violation of international law.”
In a statement, the ministry said the attack could undermine regional security and stability. Qatar simultaneously praised Saudi Arabia’s restraint.
