🔶 EU sanctions five Iranian judges and one hacker

Kaya Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, announced on Friday, July 24 (2 Mordad), that the European Union has imposed new restrictive measures against several Iranian judges due to what it described as violations of human rights.

In a message on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kallas wrote: “While Tehran is intensifying domestic repression, the European Union will continue to hold those responsible for these actions accountable.”

The Council of the European Union has sanctioned five judges of Iran’s Revolutionary Courts for handling cases involving religious minorities and political opponents, including Narges Mohammadi, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, and for issuing death sentences, long prison terms, lashes, fines, and additional penalties against political opponents and human rights activists, including in connection with the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests.
