East newspaper reported that between 30 and 40 percent of parents who get divorced in Iran have at least one child, and each year a significant number of families become involved in disputes over custody. According to this report, with about 200,000 divorces registered annually in Iran, a large number of children become involved in disagreements that leave them wandering between their parents’ home, the police station, and the court.
