During the summer, Russian troops established control over roughly 1,000 square kilometers of territory in the special military operation zone, military expert Andrey Marochko said.

He noted that Russian forces took control of 20 settlements in June, 31 more in July and another 39 in August, bringing the total figure to 90, an increase of 32 communities compared to the spring.
