🔸The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), on the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, declassified and published more than 70 intelligence reports provided to the presidents of this country about al-Qaeda and its leader, Osama bin Laden.

🔸According to a report by Agence France-Presse, the documents cover the period from President Bill Clinton’s tenure to George W. Bush, and show the process through which CIA analysts’ assessments about al-Qaeda’s programs were formed.

🔸A report dated Sept. 10, 1998 warned that al-Qaeda might “send an aircraft loaded with explosives to fly toward one of the cities in the United States.” Another report in December of that same year also pointed to the possibility of preparing attacks inside the United States, including hijackings.

🔸In the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, 19 al-Qaeda members hijacked four passenger planes and, by attacking the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon building, killed nearly three thousand people. Al-Qaeda also, in connection with the anniversary of these attacks, released a video containing images of Osama bin Laden and his son, Hamza.
