CBS News reported new images it obtained exclusively, for the first time showing the scale of damage from the Islamic Republic’s missile and drone attacks on several U.S. military sites in the Middle East.
The images were provided to CBS News by American military personnel. One of them said that the widespread damage to U.S. bases had not been communicated to the public of that country.
In an image from the Prince Sultan air base in Saudi Arabia, a Boeing E-3 Sentry four-engine aircraft can be seen with a missile striking its rear section, and the aircraft’s tail separated from the fuselage after burning.
Other images from the base show buildings and barracks whose internal sections were destroyed. CBS News also reported recording similar damage at the Boehering Camp in Kuwait; a base that is the location for the deployment and preparation of U.S. ground forces, armored vehicles, and a number of U.S. Army aircraft.
The Pentagon did not respond to CBS News’s request for comment on the report.
