Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said that warning sirens sounded in the country on Thursday.

In a brief statement published on the X social media platform, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior asked the public, without providing further details about the reason the sirens had sounded, to remain calm, follow safety instructions, and go to the nearest safe location.

Bahrain, which hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, has in recent days been the target of retaliatory attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
