At the same time as reports emerged about an explosion in the provinces of Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Sistan and Baluchestan, officials of the Islamic Republic and domestic media published contradictory accounts about these events.

Some officials said there was an attack on a military area in Konarak; others said the sounds of the explosions were due to air-defense activity; and at certain points, some government-run media also denied the occurrence of any explosion.

Meanwhile, a U.S. Department of War official told VOA that U.S. military forces have not carried out any attack against the Islamic Republic in the past few hours. U.S. Central Command, “CENTCOM,” has also not, to date, released any statement about conducting new attacks.
