Amnesty International on Friday, Second of Mordad, urged Iranian Islamic Republic officials to immediately stop any plans to carry out the death sentence of Benjamin Naghdi, an athlete.
Benjamin Naghdi was detained in Shiraz on 13 Dey 1404 in connection with nationwide protests and forcibly disappeared for 53 days.
Iranian state media aired his forced “confessions” one day after his detention and before the trial was held.
This athlete was later sentenced to death on 22 Ordibehesht this year on charges of “corruption on earth,” on the claim that he used fire extinguisher canisters against security forces.
