Ali Shirazi, a member of Iran International’s editorial team, referring to Massoud Pezeshkian’s remarks about reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the war, said that the decision about continuing the war and the Strait of Hormuz is not in Pezeshkian’s hands and that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is the one that makes the decision in this regard.

He added that it seems the IRGC has assigned a role for Pezeshkian on the international stage so that the Islamic Republic can be portrayed as the victim.
