Reports from Iran indicate that on Wednesday evening, July 10, armed clashes occurred around the cities of Piranshahr and Sardasht between members of some armed opposition groups to the Islamic Republic and the forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran has announced that five members of the party were killed during a “clash with the IRGC forces” in the heights of “Qazqapan” in Piranshahr. At the same time, IRGC-affiliated media report the killing of 11 people from anti–Islamic Republic forces in clashes in Piranshahr and Sardasht.
