🔶 Wall Street Journal: Trump advisers warn against prolonging the Iran war

The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, 18 Shahrivar (September 9), citing U.S. officials, that JD Vance, the U.S. vice president, Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, and several other senior White House advisers, in private discussions with Donald Trump, have warned that the war with Iran could continue until the end of his presidential term.

According to this report, U.S. officials have suggested that Iran will resist U.S. military and economic pressures, and that fighting will continue even after the presidential inauguration ceremony in January 2029.

A White House spokesperson said that Trump has severely weakened Iran’s military capabilities and economy, and that only he knows what decision will be made at what time.

The assessment of Trump’s senior advisers differs from his public remarks.

On Wednesday, the U.S. president predicted that the war would end immediately after the November midterm elections and claimed that Tehran does not have the ability to withstand U.S. economic pressure.
