🔶 UN fact-finding committee accuses Iran and the United States of “crimes against humanity”

An independent UN fact-finding committee on Iran, in its latest report, said that there is “sufficient evidence” to suggest that the United States may be responsible for military attacks on a school in Minab and a sports complex in Larestan, and that these attacks could constitute a war crime.

Iranian media say that in the U.S. attack on the “Shajarat al-Tayyibah” primary school in Minab on 9 Esfand (28 February), more than 150 people—most of them children students—were killed.

The UN fact-finding committee also examined Iran’s conduct in suppressing nationwide protests in the country.

The committee concluded that Iranian officials, in suppressing the violent crackdown on nationwide protests, “committed crimes against humanity”: “The suppression of protests in the years 2025–2026 by Iran indicates an unprecedented escalation compared to past crackdowns, characterized by casualties and widespread arrests.”
