U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, on the sidelines of the G20 finance ministers’ meeting, described the people of Iran as “great people” and said Iranians should know they can become a normal country again.

By referring to the crackdown on the Iranian people, Bessent said that a small group cannot remain in power forever.
