U.S. halts attacks after 13 nights; Trump says Iran has become “more serious” in talks

🔸U.S. President Donald Trump says he has not yet issued an order to begin “far heavier” attacks against Iran, and that, with the Iranian government becoming “more serious” in the talks, it will currently wait for the outcome of this process.

🔸Trump’s remarks were made at a time when, after 13 consecutive nights of U.S. Army attacks on targets mostly in southern Iran, a report of a new attack by CENTCOM on the fourteenth night was not released early Saturday morning.

🔸Speaking to reporters in the White House, the U.S. president said: “We’re talking with them right now, even as we speak. I think as each day goes by, they become more serious and more serious in the talks, and I think the reason for that is also very clear.”

🔸He said Iran must choose between reaching an agreement and facing attacks “far heavier.”

🔸Trump added: “We are fully prepared for heavy attacks. But we are in the process of talking with them. So I think when we’re talking, it’s better to see what the result is.”

🔸At the same time, the U.S. president emphasized that Tehran is “not yet ready for an agreement,” but said the officials of the Islamic Republic are seeking an agreement and, despite efforts to present a tough posture, have become more serious in the talks.

🔸He also said that, as for options ahead of Washington, one path is to continue military operations and intensify them, and the other path is to reach an agreement through negotiation.

🔸These remarks come as the U.S. Army, after the collapse of the Iran-U.S. understanding, targeted targets in Iran with airstrikes for 13 consecutive nights.

🔸In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army have also targeted U.S. positions in several countries in the region over the past two weeks.

🔸In the latest case, the Iranian Army said on Friday that it targeted the military equipment storage of the United States at the Boheirng Camp in northern Kuwait, as well as the positions of U.S. forces at the Arifjan Camp and the Doha Camp.
