The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday, 14 Shahrivar that American forces targeted three oil tankers carrying crude oil linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC); an action, according to CENTCOM, carried out after the IRGC launched ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy aircraft carriers.

According to the statement, the “Dawny” tankers near Khark Island and “Stark 1” near Jask were disabled, and the tanker without its cargo, “Kailo,” known as “Noxen,” was completely destroyed in the Sea of Oman after orders were given to the crew to abandon the ship.

Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM, said the United States will not hesitate to defend its forces and, if necessary, will target the Islamic Republic’s oil tanker fleet, which he described as “limited and vulnerable.”
