🔶 Trump: The United States dealt hard blows to Iran in honor of fallen military forces
Donald Trump said that the latest wave of attacks on targets in Iran carried out on Sunday evening was in response to the killing of U.S. military forces in the region. In remarks to reporters, made after his return from watching the World Cup final, the U.S. president said: “Those great people, those great patriots, were there fighting so that Iran would not gain access to nuclear weapons. Tonight too, we dealt them another very hard blow.”
Trump said that these attacks were carried out “in honor” of fallen military forces, and that Iran suffered “serious military damage.”
The U.S. president again stressed that control of the Strait of Hormuz is in the hands of the United States, saying: “They [Iran] have almost everything militarily lost. They have not much left—some missiles, some drones, and some production capability, but not that much.”
According to CENTCOM, over the past two days, two American soldiers were killed in Jordan following Iran’s attacks, and another military servicemember is missing. Also, an American soldier in northern Iraq was killed while disposing of ordnance that did not function from an Iranian drone that had been brought down.
